The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 (2014)

The Book of Unwritten Tales is a humorous Point & Click homage to the RPG and fantasy genre.

In a world torn by war, the aged gremlin archaeologist Mortimer MacGuffin harbours the dark secret of a powerful artefact. Whoever calls this artefact his own,
will determine the fate of the world.

While the Army of the Shadows sends out its best and most devious agents to discover the secret, the Alliance's four heroes find themselves involuntarily drawn
into the crisis...

Concept & Evolution:

"The Book of Unwritten Tales" was my first collaboration with developer KING Art Games and began in early 2009.
I was asked to write the soundtrack for a humorous adventure game in the style of the old Lucas Arts' adventures. Because I always loved the "Monkey Island" games and this was my first oppurtunity to participate on a bigger commercial game I immediately accepted.

After some tests we quickly decided that we wanted a catchy and melodious soundtrack, inspired by all the great adventure movies from the past.

Of the almost 60 minutes of music here is a short montage of my personal score highlights:

Digital Soundtrack:

A digital soundtrack is available with the "Digital Deluxe Edition" of the game, which can be purchased here.
The official soundtrack features
approximately 25 minutes of music and contains the following tracks:

1. The Raven Main Theme
2. Adventure in the Alps
3. Burglary in the Museum
4. Sunny Day on the Open Sea
5. Constable in Action
6. Runaway Train
7. Limp Bodies
8. Saloon Tune
9. He's back
10. Hunting for Clues
11. At full Speed
12. Lurking Menace
13. The Raven Overture

The Overture:

Another highlight was the orchestra recording for a small part of the game. Under the direction of conductor Bernd Ruf,
the wonderful 65-strong “Brandenburgische Staatsorchester Frankfurt/Oder” recorded the overture, which interweaves
the most important themes of the game. It was a memorable moment for me, which made my music alive.

Here is a Making-of from the scoring session:
